This course introduces you to key concepts in lean manufacturing such as continuous improvement, just-in-time production, 'pull' philosophy and total quality management (TQM). The course then focuses on the methods and tools commonly used to analyse the existing state of a manufacturing environment, including value stream mapping, Kaizen cycle, single minute exchange of dies (SMED), six sigma and capability index.
